Our Story
Terra Sassa Frenchies is a celebrated Dog Breeder based in Central Florida. I have been breeding and showing dogs since 1978, with a focus on breeding healthy standard dogs bred to the AKC standard. Up until several years ago I bred Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds. I have shown both breeds in AKC conformation since 1978.
Currently, I breed health tested French Bulldogs and own two Great Danes. I am a preservation breeder of standard French bulldogs bred for health, temperament and bred to the standard. I breed for myself first and have been showing my dogs since 1982. I do puppy culture so puppies do not leave until at least 12 weeks. My puppies include ENS, microchips, temperament testing, vaccines with certification from a vet, dewormed, sold with a contract that includes health guarantees, started with potty/crate training, desensitization and socialization and go home on insurance. Also lifetime breeder support.
Additionally, all puppies are weaned onto raw natural foods with the introduction of fermented vegetables and fruits in order to create a healthy gut and set the puppy up for good health. The composition of the gut microbiome in dogs is correlated with overall health. None of my adult dogs have food or environmental allergies. You can find more information in my nutrition blog.
About me
As an adult I have owned, trained, and shown dogs since 1974. My first dog ever was a Great Dane – Boxer mix that my Father brought home when I was six years old. That was the beginning of my love of the Great Dane breed and I was determined to own one.
Career
I have worked as a respiratory therapist for 50 years and still work PRN in an local hospital along with teaching at a Community College. I have my Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration/Informatics and my RRT. One of the areas I have specialized training and vast experience is neonatal respiratory therapy which makes me very qualified to provide care for French Bulldog Puppies.
During that 50 years I have also privately trained dogs, worked as a dog groomer and shown dogs for other people.
